Justus van Effencomplex, Michiel Brinkman (2009) is a work that mainly consists out of the photographic documentation of the indigenous plant life in an architectural monument in Rotterdam. The photo’s were taken when the Justus van Effencomplex, a revolutionairy social housing building from 1922, was being vacated in the preparation of a massive renovation. The renovation, that will be finished in 2012, promises to restore the building in it’s old glory, thereby destroying all the original flora.
